"Seniors at the Y"

This painting of the ladies at the Y is a favorite of many. The print is of an oil painting she produced when she was a student at Massachusetts College of Art. Melissa was an amazing swimmer. As a kid she was a member of a swim team, Rowell's Raiders of the Derry, New Hampshire area. Such memorable times! Melissa became a lifeguard and certified swim instructor. When she lived in Boston, she worked at the "Y" on Huntington Ave. She loved teaching the seniors to swim. She told me of how excited they would be learning to do a turn she would have instructed them to do.
